Staying at a B&B can be a
great alternative to the hotel experience.
Depending on the location, you may have
accommodations far more luxurious than your
typical budget hotel.
The best thing about a
B&B other than breakfast is that you are staying with locals who know the area and can provide tips on what to do and how to do it. You may also meet other travelers and share stories of where you have been and where you are going.
Breakfast will be included, and the menu is up to the owners
running the B&B. A typical breakfast may
include cold sandwich meats, cheeses, breads,
yogurt, milk, juice, cereal and fruit. We
have stayed at locations where the owners have
cooked a limited menu such as scrambled or fried
eggs, toast, sausage or bacon.

You will find that B&Bs
may offer a single room or several for rent.
Common areas may include a living room but most definitely a dining area.
If there are other travelers staying there,
don't miss out on the opportunity to talk with
them asking questions about their travels and
sharing your own experiences.
Sleeping arrangements
should include a private room that may or may
not have an in-room sink with running water.
There will more than likely be a locking bathroom
that is private to the person currently using it.
Some B&Bs may offer
private rooms and bathrooms at a higher rate.
Shop around on the
internet for B&Bs as well as hotels and compare
the amenities along with the price
and location.
