Day Trips as Activities with Groups

Here we build on the example shown on the Day Trips as Activities page, where we set the 'Day Trip Country and City' values for an activity to force the display of Day Trip icons that are linked to the Day Trip location rather than the Base Location.

This page will go through creating a group for your Day Trip and assigning it to all related activities.  We are continuing with the same example, a Day Trip to Pisa from Florence.
 
The Trip
On this trip, we are staying in Florence and plan to take a trip to Pisa for the day.  We have created three activities under the Florence Base Location to define the Day Trip.  Regardless of the settings, these activities have all been grouped together as shown by the group text (Day Trip to Pisa) and the purple highlight color.

Activity Day Trip
 Country/City Set 		 Details
Train / Pisa No Under Florence, the first activity is the train to Pisa.  As this is an activity in Florence, we have not set the Day Trip Country and City so the icons are still linked to the Base Location of Florence.
Attractions / Leaning Tower Yes This activity is for the Leaning Tower while we are in Pisa.  We have set the Day Trip Country and City so that the icons are linked to Pisa rather than Florence.
Train / Florence Yes This activity is for our train back to Florence.  As we are still in Pisa for this activity, the Day Trip Country and City have been set so that the icons are linked to Pisa.
 
Grouping activities together with Activity Groups


We have created an Activity Group called 'Day Trip to Pisa' and assiged it to three different activities as shown by the group title and highlight color.
Activity Groups are not just for Day Trips.  You can use Activity Groups to group activities together, helping to identify all related activities.  Another example may be to create an assign a group called 'Museums' for all activities where you will be visiting different museums in a city.

On the Activity Groups page, you can assign the group to all activities at the same time.  You may also edit each activity individually on the Activity Details page and assign the activity.
