Mobile Trip Profile - Overview

Take your trip with you wherever you go.

Access all your trip information on your Smartphone or other Mobile Device.  The Mobile Trip Profile has been designed specifically for mobile device display.  This is not a Smartphone app, but rather Mobile Web Pages designed to display all your trip information in an app style.  Quickly and easily navigate through all your trip locations, activities and other information.  Depending on the information you have entered, clickable icons display allowing you to access photos, external websites and trip details.  Other icons are integrated with Google to provide GPS Navigation, Location Maps, Photos, Weather and other information.

The Mobile Trip Profile is a subscription service.  Please review the details of the service plan on our Mobile Subscriptions page.
There is a lot of concern with apps and web pages collecting data on your phone and accessing personal information such as your contacts and other data.  You never know what an app is actually doing behind the scenes and what information is secretly being collected.

We want to assure you that our mobile pages do not secretly collect any of your personal data when utilizing the Mobile Trip Profile.  The mobile pages are like any other web page you would access on your computer, with the exception that they have been specifically formatted for mobile device display.  By utilizing this technology, you will always have the latest updates and never need to reinstall or download software updates.

Trip Sharing & Tracking

Trip Sharing allows you to share your trips with other members as well as set the information they are able to view.  For added security, on your 'My Trips' page you may enable/disable mobile access at any time and set an optional password that must be entered to display the profile.

Shared trips can be accessed using the Trip Tracker on the website to display the public trip view.  The Mobile Trip Profile will list your trips along with trips you are tracking.  Trip Sharing can be used to share your trip with others traveling with you as well as people who are not traveling who may want to follow along with you.  You will need to know the eTripCafe login Id (Email) to add a trip to another member's Trip Tracker.

No wireless service / Limited wireless service / Downloading your trip and Offline Maps
As you travel, you may be in locations where wireless service is limited or does not exist.  This of course will affect loading web pages and running apps that require an internet connection, but there are several things you can do ahead of time to help with this.

To help mitigate the situation, from the Mobile Trip Profile - Expanded view, download your entire trip to your Smartphone prior to your departure.  This will allow you to access your entire trip as a reference, even when there is no mobile service.

If you will be using GPS Navigation, download Offline Maps of the location so your phone will utilize them when there is mobile service.

Activate an international High Speed Data Plan. (Very Important) This is something you should consider when traveling abroad.  It will provide a much faster data download experience, especially if you are in an area with limited wireless service.
